摘要: Adenosine is a homeostatic bioenergetic network regulator that plays fundamental role in energy homeostasis through biochemical, bioenergetic, and receptor dependent processes. Hibernation, torpor, sleep are integral to homeostasis. Here we review evidence adenosine signaling as well biochemical influences of essential all three these processes placing at the core mammalian Central A1 (A1R) necessary for onset hibernation fasting-induced torpor ground squirrels, hamsters, mice. Activation A1R within central nervous system sufficient induce hibernation. A seasonally mediated change sensitivity stimulation agonist-induced squirrels may underlie distinction between One function restore brain homeostasis, while primary or protect somatic Where agonists act how reduces metabolic rate 1–2 % resting hibernating animals topic further research. Understanding mechanisms have implications treatment stroke, cardiac arrest, other conditions where delivery blood fails meet demand.
