Detecting multiple cracks in beams using hierarchical genetic algorithms

摘要: This study deals with a method to identify multiple cracks in beam. The novelty of this is the use hierarchical genetic algorithm detect number, location, and extent cracks. To demonstrate feasibility present method, applied identification double or triple beam as well four detected crack locations sizes are excellent agreement actual ones. numerical simulation reveal HGA substantially reduces total number FE computation required they many orders smaller compared conventional GA. results also advantages from viewpoints its ability avoid premature convergence.
