摘要: A 16-year-old captive-bred male eastern kingsnake (Lampropeltis getulus getulus) was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, University of Florida for evaluation a bleeding mass which first noted 2 months prior presentation. The grayish 3 5 cm, firm, ovoid, raised above ventral scales, and located liver. snake anesthetized with isoflurane in 100% oxygen, found firmly attached fascia skin underlying skeletal musculature. Because invasiveness into surrounding tissue, complete excision not possible. Tissue samples were fixed 10% neutral buffered formalin, embedded paraffin, sectioned at mm, stained hematoxylin eosin (HE), sections examined by light microscopy. Microscopically, composed sheets interwoven bundles contiguous neoplastic cells ranging from round polygonal fusiform. Neoplastic had scant abundant, eosinophilic, foamy fibrillar cytoplasm variably distinct borders. Nuclei moderately anisokaryotic, elongate, euchromatic vesicular frequently contained single or multiple nucleoli various sizes. Mitotic figures rare, vascular invasion tumor detected. tissue invaded adjoining muscle extended surgical margins (Fig. 1). No bacterial fungal organisms detected Goodpasture, Fites, Gomori methenamine silver stains. An anatomic diagnosis undifferentiated sarcoma made. Given invasive nature incomplete excision, recurrence considered likely. After 6 months, regrown original site approximately same size as previous mass. To stage this disease, diagnostic performed. Whole body radiographs within normal limits. ultrasonogram revealed heteroechoic extending coelomic cavity, displacing lung. liver uniform echogenicity texture. Hematologic parameters leukocytosis (11,300 cells/ml), lymphocytosis (5,760 anemia (packed cell volume [PCV] 17%). Plasma biochemical When reexcised, it be musculature invading cavity. Portions processed described histopathologic evaluation. Findings similar
