摘要: Abstract Objective : Some basic characteristics of magnetoencephalographic (MEG) and electroencephalographic (EEG) signals were studied by comparing somatic evoked fields (SEFs) potentials (SEPs) elicited electrical stimulations different areas the snout in piglets. Methods SEFs measured with without an intact skull, whereas SEPs on skull cortex (Electrocorticograms – ECoG) within same animal. Results The above dura very similar to each other temporal waveform spatial topography, indicating small effects skull. They both revealed somatotopic projections snout. were, contrast, clearly their amplitudes as well morphologies, significant However, early component SEP a representation snout, that EEG can be also useful for inferring cortical projection areas. Discrepancies maps due predominance produced currents gyral cortex. sites inferred from quite accurate comparison those ECoGs intracortical SEPs. Conclusion similarities differences point out complementary nature MEG EEG.
