摘要: Three patients who were at risk of having a baby with neural-tube defect investigated by ultrasonic examination and alpha-fetoprotein (A;F.P.) estimation. In all three cases amniotic-fluid A.F.P. levels significantly raised pregnancy was terminated. the first case ultrasound failed to detect small lumbo-sacral meningocele; second successfully diagnosed dorso-lumbar meningo-myelocele but did not recognise internal hydrocephalus. third define any lesion, pathological fetus revealed no abnormality. It is concluded that an important diagnostic technique in antneatal investigation spina bifida.
