摘要: Abstract Recent theoretical emphasis on quantifying the processes of runoff generation in space-time river basins has given a new focus to fundamental importance channel network geomorphology basin hydrology. Of particular significance this context is need for comprehensive quantitative theory networks three dimensions reflecting constraints space filling and available potential energy as well climatic, hydrologic geologic controls which are dynamical equilibrium with forms. progress related these issues discussed nontechnical way illustrated examples, important open problems identified.
