摘要: Abstract Islamic State (IS) has been vilified for its brutality and admired the sophistication of media productions. This conceptual paper argues that IS is not propaganda in western sense but rather propagation a minoritarian ‘take’ on Islam. are simply fora gratuitous display violence venues rational, strategic communication designed mainly regional consumption. Global audiences targeted, too, produced them less voluminous than presented to populations IS-controlled areas surrounding regions. While State’s diverse output western-style public relations, artifice artefacts employed group’s “media war” only relevant also noteworthy relations professionals.
