摘要: Activities thought to induce high intra-abdominal pressure (IAP), such as lifting weights, are restricted in women with pelvic floor disorders. Standardized procedures assess IAP during activity lacking and typically only focus on maximal variably defined. Our intent this methods article is establish the best strategies for calculating add area under curve first moment of potentially useful measures understanding biologic effects IAP. Thirteen completed a range activities while wearing an intravaginal transducer. We analyzed various heuristically using data from 3 women. The measure that seemed represent was average 3, 5, or 10 highest values, depending activity, determined top-down approach, peaks at least 1 second apart algorithms written Matlab computer software, we then compared strategy others commonly reported literature quantitatively additional volunteers. Maximal calculated approach differed some, but not all, single peak averaging all peaks. also curve, which allows time component, area, maintains component weighing amplitude. validated assessing computer-generated sine waves. offer standardized improve future reporting application clinically relevant exercise science.
