摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses that information processing in a social context requires consideration of not only the literal meaning conveyed but also subjects' perceptions “why” is communicated. The motivational factors affect both content and style with which transmitted its ultimate interpretation by recipient. It informational stimulate recipient's attention to nonliteral context, addresses implications pragmatic for—namely, (1) judgments based on presented, (2) recall information, (3) use other available encountered course this processing. Individual differences tendency take into account are discussed. evaluates for an understanding mental representation considers future directions research likely take.
