摘要: Purpose: The authors describe the incidence of cataract surgery in participants Beaver Dam Eye Study. Methods: Objective evidence extraction as obtained at follow-up examinations a population-based cohort is given. Participants included all adults 43 to 84 years age who lived city or township Dam, Wisconsin. Results: Age-adjusted significantly greater for women, those with lower diastolic blood pressure, hypertension, widows/widowers, and report that their vision worse than it had been. Multivariate analyses disclose following characteristics (with respective odds ratios) are associated incident surgery: (odds ratio [OR] 10 1.40; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.02, 1.91); cigarette smoking (≥ 35 pack years; OR 1.91; CI 1.16, 3.17); nuclear (OR 35.58; 10. 50 years); cortical 3.75; 2.40, 5.88); posterior subcapsular 15.51; 8.27, 29.09); impaired 3.76; 2.33, 6.05); intraocular pressure 14 mmHg; 2.56; Cl 1.50, 4.38); visual sensitivity light 1.94; 1.19, refractive error (myopic) 1.99; 1.22, 3.24); yellow color 1.69; 2.81); being examined by an ophthalmologist within 2 1.54; 1.03, 2.30). Conclusions: Many factors surgery, but prior presence most important lens opacity. In addition, function changes, which may be relatively mild, subsequent surgery.
