摘要: Sulfate adsorption on mineral surfaces is an important environmental chemical process, but the structures and respective contribution of different complexes under various conditions are unclear. By combining sulfur K-edge XANES EXAFS spectroscopy, quantum calculations, surface complexation modeling (SCM), we have shown that sulfate forms both outer-sphere bidentate–binuclear inner-sphere ferrihydrite surfaces. The relative fractions vary with pH, ionic strength (I), sample hydration degree (wet versus air-dried), their remained same. complex loading decreases increasing pH while remaining unchanged I.
