摘要: ABSTRACT On the undersides of beds fine-grained sandstone, casts imprints cubes which had been partially buried in underlying argillaceous sediments and then dissolved before being filled covered with sand were found Rome formation Grainger County, Tennessee. Thin sections reveal that filling is micro-crossbedded same composition texture as covering beds. The halite crystals left probably formed small pools on mud flats. This evidence evaporite deposition should not be taken an indication supersalinity Sea, nor it proof arid climate region. Casts can used to determine sequence o strata.
