摘要: Background Correction of the lower third nose is perhaps most challenging component performing a rhinoplasty. The tongue-in-groove (TIG) technique provides method for correcting excess columellar show and maintaining correction caudal deviation. It also indicated controlling nasal tip rotation projection while preserving integrity lobular cartilaginous complex may be combined with either external or endonasal typically used in combination other septorhinoplasty maneuvers. TIG consists by which medial crura are advanced cephaloposteriorly onto septum into surgically created space between them. Objective To determine effectiveness to aid show, deviated septum, various problems. Setting Private practices 2 authors (R.W.H.K., Houston, Tex, H.M.T.F., Alexandria, Egypt). Patients records 287 patients who underwent rhinoplasties one private practice from 1989 through early 1999 (n = 203) another 1994 84) were reviewed. Main Outcome Measures Physician judgment outcome was based on reduction change projection, narrowing columella, straightening as preoperative postoperative photographs taken all but 4 patients. Patient measured patient requests revision comments made during follow-up visits. Results Of patients, 278 (97%) had satisfactory excellent results. Only 9 (3%) required revisions related technique. Eight these did not achieve enough adequate projection. A repeated 8 One overprojected revision. 108 septal deviation, none needed further surgery. Conclusions direct, effective solution reliable, reproducible achieving predictable Furthermore, when conjunction septoplasty techniques, it helps maintain septum.
