Les prothèses de hanche au cobalt sont-elles dangereuses ?

摘要: Certaines protheses de hanche contiennent du metal et sont donc susceptibles liberer, chez les patients qui portent, des particules metalliques, en particulier cobalt. Le cobalt peut etre responsable d’une toxicite locale (metallose, reaction d’hypersensibilite, tumeur benigne) ou systemique (cardiomyopathie, polycythemie, hypothyroidie, troubles neurologiques). Afin d’estimer ce risque toxique et d’evaluer la performance de hanche un dosage regulier sanguin est recommande le patient implante. La valeur seuil recommandee actuellement 7 µg par litre sang. Notre etude, realisee sur 4 ans 251 implantes, a permis montrer que cobaltemie moyenne etait 2,51 µg/l, nettement inferieure au retenu.
