摘要: Over the past decade, suicide rates in US Armed Forces have increased substantially, prompting considerable efforts to address this devastating public health concern. The effects of a can echo through families, unit members, and military community. Better understanding epidemiology suicidality among soldiers, ability identify factors that predict or protect from suicidal thoughts behaviors, important implications for risk assessment, case conceptualization, treatment planning. However, these phenomena multiple determinants, interactions preexisting vulnerabilities, stressors, protective are complex. This chapter briefly summarizes behaviors servicemembers veterans, including history, factors, prevention treatment. Recent findings Study Assess Risk Resilience Servicemembers-Longitudinal (STARRS-LS), largest most comprehensive study mental resilience ever conducted Army, highlighted as an step improving organizations, policymakers, health-care professionals respond significant issue.
