摘要: Aromatic prenyltransferases transfer prenyl moieties onto aromatic acceptor molecules, catalyzing an electrophilic substitution of the ring under formation carbon-carbon bonds. They give rise to astounding diversity primary and secondary metabolites in plants, fungi bacteria. This review describes a recently discovered family prenyltransferases. The structure these enyzmes shows type beta/alpha fold with antiparallel beta strands. Due alpha-beta-beta-alpha architecture this fold, group enzymes was designated as ABBA lack (N/D)DxxD motif which is characteristic for many other At present, 14 genes sequence similarity can be identified database. A phylogenetic analysis separates them into two clades. One comprises 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate 3-dimethylallyltransferases CloQ NovQ involved aminocoumarin antibiotic biosynthesis Streptomyces strains, well four unknown function from fungal genomes. clade prenylated naphthoquinones phenazines different streptomycetes. are soluble biocatalysts easily obtained homogeneous proteins significant amounts. Their substrates accommodated surprisingly spacious central cavity explains their promiscuity substrates. Therefore, represent attractive tools chemoenzymatic synthesis bioactive molecules.
