摘要: In this study, the finite-element method is used to investigate seismic behavior of rectangular liquid tanks in two-dimensional space. This capable considering both impulsive and convective responses liquid-tank system. Two different models corresponding with shallow tall tank configurations are studied under effects horizontal vertical ground motions using scaled earthquake components 1940 El-Centro record. The containers assumed fixed rigid ground. Fluid-structure interaction on dynamic response fluid taken into account incorporating wall flexibility. results show that flexibility damping properties have a major effect should be considered design criteria tanks. acceleration found less significant when together. study verified compared those obtained by numerical methods other available literature.
