摘要: Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a technology that has been proposed to reduce what are perceived be excessive concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in the atmosphere. CCS will require transportation CO from locations sites via pipelines. To ensure safety, an accurate prediction decompression following pipeline fracture crucial for design operation these projects. A multi‐phase model using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques presented this paper. The GERG‐2008 equation state (EOS) employed describe properties vaporand liquid phases. phase change mass transfer coefficient control inter‐phase rateis implemented into CFD code. By varying coefficient, effect delayed nucleation on wave speed can investigated. modelis validated against experimental data shock tube test. performance also compared with Homogeneous Equilibrium Model (HEM). In addition, influence characteristics discussed optimum depressurization obtained. © 2017 Society Chemical Industry John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
