摘要: Polar bear hunting success on ringed seals in subnivean lairs and basking the fast ice, was studied Hornsund, Svalbard. A few bears were observed while actually hunting, but most cases tracks followed by snowmobile to determine outcome of hunts. Seal carcasses classified from size tooth annuli as pups, juveniles or adults. total 62 structures entered bears, with six scals killed. One ten charges resulted a kill.
