摘要: Abstract The several possible solutions to the problem of creeping flow relative an isolated permeable sphere are discussed and compared quantitatively. most satisfactory is that based upon Brinkman's extension Darcy's Law. This solution generalized, using Happel's free-surface model, cover practically important a swarm spheres. A physically realistic mathematically consistent expression for hydrodynamic resistance experienced by typical within such system derived. then used predict settling rate overall permeability swarm.
