摘要: Abstract Eutrophication of shallow freshwater lakes is a severe ecological problem all over the world. Phosphorus one main triggering nutrients responsible for eutrophication lakes. Constructed wetlands provide an effective means phosphorus removal from enriched waters. The cost constructed wetland depends mainly on substrates filled within it. Here we used three inexpensive including loess, cinder and limestone to construct along shore Lake Taihu, then tested total (TP) ability wetland, chemical physical characteristics, abilities adsorption inhibition substrates. We found that artificial with layered cinder, but without hydrophytes mesophytes had high during 44-day test, especially in first 10 days. average rate TP was 41% overall testing time. Chemical properties stronger impacts than did. Among substrates, highest due its calcium content. This suggests more attention should be paid composition selection assembly both study engineering applications.
