摘要: 1. Changes in total lipid and R.Q. show that female pupae of H. cecropia begin to catabolize early adult development. In males there is a conservation during development resulting the male moth having about three times content female. both sexes utilize as major energy source. 2. Lipid available substrate well preferred flight-muscle metabolism moths. 3. Flight-muscle homogenates greater oxidative activity with fatty acids citric acid cycle intermediates than glucose or glycolytic intermediates, indicating carbohydrate pathways are not prominent. 4. A oxidizing system has been identified flight muscle which requires ATP, magnesium intermediate for optimum activity. 5. Experiments radiotracers metabolic inhibitors reveal oxidation proceeds via cytochrome chain. 6. Active activating enzymes present muscle, discussed relation vertebrate other invertebrate systems.
