摘要: Through quantitative focused ion beam cross-sectional characterization technique, we directly observed shear displacement in a range from several nanometers to few tens of occurring the plastic deformation zone ahead crack tip nanolayered Cu/Ta composite subjected tensile load. As result, shear-mode fracture laminate was eventually caused. A theoretical analysis interface barrier strength metallic composites here and reported literature finds critical individual layer thickness below which nature tends be shearing failure.
