摘要: Abstract 1. A reproducible method for creating coronary occlusion with predictable and varied degrees of myocardial infarction in the closed chest animal is presented. 2. Adjustment microsphere dosage to body weight can provide animals suitable study acute phase high mortality or a preparation but long term survival chronic heart disease. 3. Serum lactic dehydrogenase was observed rise all animals. The mean levels response are directly related dose mortality. 4. Two types early death were dogs that succumbed 1 hour less. Sixty per cent had shock followed by ventricular fibrillation most cases. Forty maintained an adequate blood pressure until developed. Both mechanical failure interruption normal conduction potential occurred about equal proportions deaths this experiment. 5. Electrocardiographic changes inconsistent sometimes transient proved disease at autopsy. 6. Infarcts could be demonstrated surviving 8 12 hours series. They closely approximated those human subjects. Individual lesions found smaller than their counterparts instances where coalescence adjacent infarcts did not occur. 7. Extracorporeal assisted circulation arterioarterial counterpulsation has been previewed as treating occlusion.
