摘要: 1. The mineral ion composition and the occurrence of CAM-like diurnal malate fluctuations in species from 6 field locations Israel Sinai were studied during spring 1974. The sites a) a salt swamp near Acre on Mediterranean Sea shore northern part Israel, b) high coast Tel Aviv, c) southern Dead area Sedom, d) Negev highlands surrounding ancient town Avdat, e) Wadi Paran desert, f) Red southeastern tip peninsula close to Bedouin village Nabek. carbon assimilatory organs plants analysed for Na+, K+, Cl− SO42- as well at dawn dusk. 2. Most are characterized by levels ions (mainly Na+/and Cl−) often exceeding 300–400 μeq per g fresh weight, Na+/K+ ratios their tissues mainly ranging 10 20. CAM-like observed four species: Mesembryanthemum crystallinum, M. forsskalii nodiflorum non-halophytic Asclepiadaceae Caralluma It suggested that, among halophytes, capability perform CAM generally restricted Aizoaceae.
