摘要: Transparent obsidian artifacts have been reported for the northern Lake Titicaca Basin. Based on instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) of these a distinct chemical group was identified. Yet, location source transparent in southern Andes remained unreported archaeological literature. This paper reports composition and geographic from Macusani region Peru. Through use INAA portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) we demonstrate that or macusanite comprises (at least) two groups. One groups used making during Archaic Period. Artifacts made this were found more than 120 km yet, one-third encountered at non-local Chivay which is 215 to southwest.
