摘要: The photolysis of CH3Br is studied in the energy region A band between 4.94 and 5.76 eV using ion imaging. Velocity distributions for both bromine-atom methyl-radical photofragments are determined. Our results indicate that transitions to 3Q0 3Q1 states dominate absorption cross section partial each state [Br*]/[Br] branching ratio found be strongly dependent on excitation varying 0.6 1.5. Both translational suggest vibrational distribution nascent CH3 nonstatistical with appreciable v2 umbrella mode. lifetime estimated at τ=120±40 fs.
