摘要: Hypertension in old age is common, sufficiently so for us to think of it as normal. Taking the W.H.O. criteria that a diastolic blood pressure 90–94 mm Hg refers borderline hypertension and one 95 mg or more definite hypertension, then, U.K. population 7% men under 35 have 18% 45, 20% 55 25% those over 55. Further illustration levels older groups has come from community based research (e.g. Miall Chinn 1973).
