摘要: Abstract Friction has shown to have a significant effect in determining the ballistic impact performance of woven fabrics. Many efforts were made investigate how inter-yarn friction affects response fabrics past decades. However, fundamental understanding mechanics mechanisms works fabric panels still needs be established and improved. It is vitally important understand for example distribution stress magnitude yarns. This necessary failure yarns energy absorption event. paper presents detailed analysis on behaviour using finite element method. been found that stresses yarn surface sensitive frictional coefficient between crossing fabric. Increasing reduces at edge projectile–fabric contact region. The with higher causes impacting projectile longer time penetrate compared lower absorbed by more than friction. decreases longitudinal wave velocity whereas transverse increased along increase
