摘要: Trypanosoma brucei, the causative agent of African sleeping sickness humans, and other kinetoplastid flagellates belong to eukarytotic supergroup Excavata. This early-branching model protist is known for a broad range unique features. As it amenable most techniques forward reverse genetics, T. brucei was subject several studies its iron-sulfur (Fe/S) protein biogenesis thus represents best studied excavate eukaryote. Here we review what about Fe/S focus especially on comparative evolutionary interesting aspects. We also explore connections between well-known quite conserved ISC CIA machineries tRNA thiolation pathway. Moreover, cluster dissected in procyclic stage which has an active mitochondrion, as well pathogenic bloodstream with metabolically repressed organelle. article part Special Issue entitled: proteins: Analysis, structure, function, diseases.
