摘要: Abstract Parietal cortex is often activated in brain imaging studies on conscious visual processing, but its causal role and timing nonconscious perception are poorly understood. We studied the of posterior intraparietal sulcus (IPS) early areas (V1/V2) vision by interfering with their functioning MRI-guided transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The observers made binary forced-choice decisions concerning shape or color metacontrast masked targets rated quality perception. TMS was applied 30, 60, 90, 120 ms after stimulus-onset. In discrimination task, V1/V2 impaired at 90 ms. IPS only perception, also around Conscious facilitated suppressed depending strength TMS-induced electric field results suggest that simultaneous activity 90 ms necessary for awareness not overlapping periods may reflect recurrent interaction between parietal V1
