摘要: The operating parameters and resulting surface morphology of automated Langmuir–Blodgett deposition monosized micrometer-scale silica colloids from an aqueous suspension are investigated. This apparatus allows continuous roll-to-roll particles into well-ordered arrays. reproducible particle monolayers at low to moderate rates web speeds less than 10 mm/s is possible accurately characterized by a simple mass balance deposited solution. At faster rates, Landau–Levich flow increases the film thickness such that instabilities hinder uniform deposition. A phase diagram outlines transitions dispersed multilayer coatings erratic patterns. While threshold maximum rate well-defined for these conditions, changing parameters, size, fluid viscosity evaporation rate, speed can be increased significantly.
