摘要: Several methods are compared for the detection of moving capillary fronts in spontaneous imbibition experiments where water invades dry porous rocks. These are: (i) continuous monitoring mass increase during imbibition, (ii) imaging front motion using X-ray CT scanning, (iii) use ultrasonic measurements allowing velocity, amplitude and spectral content propagating elastic waves, (iv) combined scanning monitoring. It is shown that properties depend on heterogeneity rocks, information derived from each method dynamics can be significantly different. One important result direct comparison position P wave attributes strongly impacted before reaches sensors, contrast with velocity change which concomitant fluid arrival sensors plane.
