Impact of intermittent misfire and fire-through on the performance of full converter based WECS

摘要: The integration of wind turbines into modern power grids has significantly increased during the last decade. turbine equipped with full converter based energy Conversion System (FCWECS) represented about 20.3% worldwide total capacity in 2003. Since FCWECS is a voltage source inverter (VSI), it vulnerable that misfire and fire-through may occur within VSI switches. In this paper, impact these switching malfunctions on performance investigated discussed. Detailed simulations system under study are carried out using Matlab/Simulink to highlight influence internal faults PCC voltage, DC link shaft speed, as well generator active reactive power. Furthermore, compliance Spain fault ride through (FRT) grid codes also investigated.
