摘要: Due to the global health problems associated with mosquito-borne diseases, over two million people primarily in tropical countries are at risk. The widely and commonly used chemical method though effective, has some major disadvantages making insect control practically difficult. In view of above, it is unavoidable search for new molecules, which eco-friendly, cheaper, safer. present study deals evaluation bioactive potential occurring plants against mosquitoes presenting an alternative conventional methods. Essential oils extracted by steam distillation from rhizome Zingiber officinalis leaf stem Achyranthes aspera were evaluated larvicidal, attractant/repellent, oviposition attractant/deterrent activity mosquito species viz. Aedes aegypti Culex quinquefasciatus. highest larvicidal activity, i.e., LC50 = 154 ppm 197 A. C. quinquefasciatus, respectively was shown Z. officinalis. This oil also offers 5-h protection concentration 0.5 mg/cm² both species. deterrence exhibited oil, 100% 85.71%, case respectively, 0.1%. These results reveal that these have
