摘要: Abstract This work presents the computational fluid dynamic modeling of an exhaust plume dispersed from pipe a class-8 tractor truck powered by 330 hp Cummins M11 electronically controlled diesel engine. effort utilizes advanced CFD technique to accurately predict variation carbon dioxide concentration inside turbulent using k – e eddy dissipation model. The simulation includes “real-world” operation and its in NASA, Langley aircraft testing wind tunnel, that had effective volume 226, 535 m 3 (8,000,000 ft ). predicted results show excellent agreement with experimentally measured values CO 2 concentrations, dilution ratios, temperature variations plume. A specific goal this was study effect recirculation region near walls on dispersion For purpose, growth center is also presented discussed. shows benefits applications where correlations are not required priori, instead coefficients calculated precisely solving kinetic energy equations.
