摘要: Abstract Objectives the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms more than 5 cm in diameter is well accepted, but controversy surrounds management concomitant serious intra-abdominal lesions diagnosed perioperative period. This study was undertaken to demonstrate that synchronous surgery feasible and safe this group patients. Design 1978 a decision made undertake combined operations on all patients with an aneurysm or significant non-vascular lesion requiring surgery. Methods case records 676 who had grafting for aneurysmal disease urgent occlusive between 1998 were analysed retrospectively. Setting district general hospital. Results fifty-six (8%) co-existing treated at time graft There three (5%) hospital deaths seven required early reoperation. One patient developed subphrenic abscess there superficial wound infections. has been no clinical evidence infection series. Conclusion single centre experience demonstrates it does not appear predispose increased risk infection.
