摘要: Abstract Aquaculture feeds for carnivorous finfish species have been dependent upon the use of fish meal as major source dietary protein; however, increasing demands finite quantity this high-quality protein requires that become increasingly comprised alternative plant and/or animal protein. Soybean has used to partially replace in diets several but it is known cause enteritis Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar . We compared two groups juvenile (207.2 ± 6.6 g) halibut, Hippoglossus hippoglossus , L., fed containing (FM; control) or 30% soybean (SBM; experimental) a 3 weeks. No detectable difference feed intake palatability was evident with SBM diet relative FM diet. Histological examination distal intestine performed examine leukocyte infiltration lamina propria and other changes morphology commonly observed soybean-induced salmonids. significant found between diets. Global gene expression profiling using high-density oligonucleotide microarray 9260 unique features, printed quadruplicate, from halibut revealed subtle underlying immune genes involved muscle formation, lipid transport, xenobiotic detoxification, digestion intermediary metabolism. These results indicate can be successfully replacement although long-term effects on system may ensue.
