摘要: Aims and objectives Preeclampsia eclampsia are pregnancy complications with serious consequences for mother infant. Uncontrolled lipid peroxidation may play an important role in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia by causing vascular endothelial cell dysfunction. Antioxidants serve to control peroxidation. We attempted ascertain whether antioxidant protective mechanisms diminished women eclampsia. Materials methods Lipid markers were assayed 25 healthy non-pregnant as a group, third trimester normal pregnant women, preeclamptic eclamptic patients same standard spectrophotometer methods. Results In malondialdehyde, product peroxidation, was significantly increased while enzymatic antioxidants like superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, reductase catalase reduced compared controls. Conclusion is factor pathogenesis The decrease probably due compensatory nature responding peroxide load indicate severity disease.
