摘要: One of the objectives European Union (EU) ecological risk assessment chemicals (ERA) is to derive maximum environmental concentrations that are not expected cause adverse effects. To this end, related EU directives list protection goals as well guidelines should be used reach these goals. It generally accepted individual-level endpoints on which based do correspond listed population- and ecosystem-level In article, we identify 5 research topics key bridging gap: 1) refinement population-level effects recovery rates by explicitly taking into account competition 2) predation, 3) chemical biodiversity, 4) stress ecosystem functions services, 5) quantification mixtures. addition, illustrate why an perspective needed address inform process. We propose use existing ecotoxicological community, food web, models tackle issues discuss new predict biodiversity. Integr Environ Assess Manag 2013;9:e34–e38. © 2013 SETAC
