Optomechanical design of Altair, the Gemini adaptive optics system

摘要: Altair, the Gemini Adaptive Optics System, is currently being developed for use a Cassegrain focus of northern 8-meter Telescope, located on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. The Altair mechanical design must meet strict mass, center gravity and volume constraints while providing highly stable optical bench assembly, housing thermally controlling large set electronics. has been in tandem with tolerance analysis to ensure that structure could support most sensitive optics within specification over full range vector temperature encountered. In turn,the budget was reallocated better match predicted performance each element system.
