摘要: The characteristics of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in vaccinated children who acquire de novo HBV infections after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) remain largely unknown. aim this study was to explore mutants pediatric OLT recipients with infections. In all, 50 underwent between December 1997 and October 2005, they were regularly checked for serum markers from November 2005 April 2009. Before OLT, all surface antigen (HBsAg)-negative under the coverage universal infant vaccination program. Those became HBsAg-positive diagnosed infection. viral loads full-length genome sequencing determined when diagnosis infection established. Nine patients (9/50, 18%) acquired OLT. None had graft loss or fulminant hepatitis. Five cleared HBsAg, 4 5 even recovered antibody (anti-HBs) formation. other persistently HBsAg-positive. Mutations major S gene (681 base pairs) discovered 8 (88.9%) HBV-infected children. Six them harbored mutations within "a" determinant region (codons 124-147), whereas 2 outside region. These HBsAg anti-HBs DNA levels not different those did not. conclusion, are frequent among transplant infections, but their clinical relevance requires further study.
