摘要: As the use of desalination increases in many parts world, problem changes from water scarcity to energy consumption and moves overused, polluted freshwater bodies marine environment. The main environmental concerns activity revolve around emissions greenhouse gases air pollutants, concentrate chemical discharges into sea, large quantities seawater for cooling purposes as feed water, causing impingement entrainment organisms, construction-related impacts on coastal nearshore habitats. This chapter gives a synopsis key plant An overview capacities by sea region is given, followed more in-depth discussion associated with three regions, Gulf, Red Sea Mediterranean Sea, which together account 70% global capacity.
