摘要: Abstract Nanoindentation technique have developed considerably over last thirty years. Nowadays, commercially available systems offer very precise measurement in nano- and microscale, environmental noise cancelling (or at least suppressing), situ high temperature indentation controlled atmosphere vacuum conditions different additional options, among them dedicated is one of the most popular. Due to its precision, ability measure mechanical properties from small depths (tens nm), this become quite popular nuclear society. It known that ion implantation (to some extent) can simulate influence neutron flux. However, depth material damage limited resulting creation thin layer modified unmodified bulk. Therefore, only technique, offering possibility control be used study functional material. For reason, nanoindentation seems a perfect tool investigate implanted specimens. conducting correct nanomechanical experiment extracting valuable parameters not an easy task. In paper discussion about tests performed on irradiated YSZ single crystal presented. The goal discuss possible traps when studying such materials coatings.
