摘要: Ribosomal DNA (rDNA) is the region of genome coding for RNA component ribosomes. The ubiquity and conservation rDNA sequences has made these regions important tools reconstructing phylogenetic relationships. In eukaryotes, may be found in nucleus organelles. However, mitochondrial chloroplast are more like those their prokaryote ancestors than eukaryote hosts. Eukaryotic nuclear tandemly organized, with copy numbers up to order 104. Each repeat unit consists genes small subunit (16–18S), large (23–28S) 5.8S rDNA. These separated from each other by spacers (see Fig. 14.1).
