Adsorption of oxygen on Pt(111) and its reactivity to hydrogen and carbon monoxide

摘要: Oxygen was found to adsorb on Pt(111) with an initial sticking coefficient of 0.048 +- 0.006 and linear adsorption kinetics. The surface saturated at oxygen platinum ratio 1:4. reactivity adsorbed hydrogen CO determined from steady-state coverages for H/sub 2/-O/sub 2/ CO-O/sub mixtures. From the data which show reaction probabilities 1.0 1/2 over a wide range coverages, it is concluded that both are reactive in mobile states may be precursors adsorption.
