摘要: Abstract We have previously shown, in UHV–SEM studies of Ag/Fe(110), that Ag(111) islands grow on top two intermediate monolayers Ag the Stranski–Krastanov (SK) mode. In present work, Fe was deposited samples consisting (1–5 ML) annealed layers Fe(110). Growth, structure and intermixing were monitored by biased secondary electron imaging (b-SEI), reflection diffraction (RHEED) Auger spectroscopy (AES). At room temperature (RT), a (110) orientation (1–2 ML) Ag(111)/Fe(110). Due to kinetic limitations, these form facets similar those obtained Fe/Fe(110) system. These limitations are overcome system depositing at 250°C. All three orientations Nishiyama–Wassermann relationship observed for grown thicker, but not thinner, layers. Quantitative AES indicates there is monolayer level between atoms underlying even RT. During annealing, or deposition 250°C, undergo long range diffusion towards deposit, completely 5 ML layers; thinner layers, flatten forming additional substrate Ag/Fe(110) interface.
