摘要: Purpose To evaluate the occurrence of myopia in Asian subjects with angle closure and to assess ocular biometric parameters these subjects. Design Cross-sectional study. Participants We prospectively recruited 427 angle-closure (143 primary suspects, 75 patients closure, 165 glaucoma, 44 acute closure) from a Singapore hospital. Methods Refractive status was derived spherical equivalent autorefraction. A-scan biometry (Nidek Echoscan Ultrasound US-800; Nidek Co., Tokyo, Japan) performed obtain anterior chamber depth (ACD), axial length (AL), lens thickness, vitreous cavity (VL). Anterior segment optical coherence tomography measure vault. Main Outcome Measures categorized as (≤−0.50 diopter [D]), emmetropia (−0.50 to +0.50 D), hyperopia (≥+0.50 D). Results The mean age ± standard deviation study 65.6±7.6 years, most being Chinese (n = 394; 92.3%) women 275; 64.4%). Overall, present 94 (22%), 222 (52%), 111 (26%). Of myopic patients, 28 (29.8%) were having moderate (≤−2.0 to −5.0D) 11 (11.7%) high (≤−5.00 Although had longer ALs ( P  = 0.001) than their emmetropic hyperopic counterparts, there no significant differences ACD 0.77), thickness 0.44), or vault 0.053). Conclusions Almost one quarter myopic. Myopic had longer VLs ALs, but difference ACD. With increasing rate many East populations, may be shallow closure. implication is that ophthalmologists should not assume glaucoma who are have open angles.
