摘要: OBJECTIVE To gain an understanding of men's experiences having lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and bother, a principle determinant whether patient has intervention for LUTS. PATIENTS AND METHODS Data were collected on 75 patients with LUTS presenting to urology outpatient clinic. Men completed questionnaire asking about their symptoms, mood perceptions RESULTS Most participants scored within the normal range anxiety depression, expressed moderate level distress. They some extent bothered by symptoms. men perceived as long-term problem but felt unable control The results suggest that bother reflects overall distress Bother appears be related symptom severity, self perception, social limitation impact Embarrassment relate strongly bother. CONCLUSION Several psychological factors bother; it may possible reduce using brief intervention.
