摘要: Abstract Our main objective was to trace and quantify the stabilization of nitrogen released from litter decomposition in different functional soil organic matter fractions. To identify fate a free-range experiment, 15 N-labeled beech deposited on bare surface three 2 m × 2 m plots Rendzic Leptosol under ( Fagus sylvatica L.) with mull humus form near Tuttlingen (Swabian Jura, Germany). The N composition bulk fractions monitored for years by sampling layer Ah horizon (0–5, 5–10 cm) after 140, 507, 876 d. A combined density particle size fractionation procedure allowed isolation fractions: free light fraction, occluded matter, organo-mineral associations. first flush enrichment observed within 140 d, due plant debris transferred fraction probably bioturbation soluble compounds being leached directly clay rates 140 d indicated quick transfer N-enriched into rate 0.07 μg kg −1 d , fractions, 0.31 μg kg . In contrast, delayed, 0.01 μg kg (> 20 μm) 0.001 μg kg N. rapid incorporation high preservation revealed dominant role associations investigated soil.
